The Nashville Independent Music Awards as it is now known, is an achievement driven music awards program. Obviously, each specially selected artist participant in this program must have great music that makes it past a unique filtration system that we have created. Remember, being GOOD IS A GIVEN. Our event participants are expected to be good and have great music material, along with unlimited talents and abilities as a musician. However, having good music is not the singular basis for succeeding in the music industry. Having valid public recognition, popularity through mass media exposure and most importantly, business related endorsements for their music project are the key ingredients for success.
By the time we end our submission process, we will have thousands of entries. If you are one of the 50 artist’s we have selected to work with for our red-carpet events, THAT is a huge privilege. This puts your music in the top 1%. We have strong label support every year with Curb Records, who has had over 300 number one radio hits in the past 60 years. They have been a contributor to our award show events in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Nashville since 2006. We also have a television station, a prestigious music industry publication, multiple radio stations, and musical equipment companies who are participants in our events.
If an artist seeks a live performance slot on our main event stage in front of our unique audience, or if they want their moment to be on our stage accepting an award to thank those who have helped them get to this higher level of real achievement, they must have a company sponsor that has a logo to co-brand with our other sponsors on our red carpet press walls and place on our event website along with other promotional materials we make. Performing and being a recipient at this event is a game changer for any artist that can obtain commercial business endorsements. As a performer or award recipient, they are part of a small number of artists who receive this opportunity. They earn an award with our program by being successful at selling themselves to a business who believes in them, their music and their career goals. We deliver on our promise to give their sponsors an effective mass media branding opportunity through live event-based marketing, publicity and promotion of their products or services at our Nashville red carpet press events.
For the record, despite numerous false online accusations and innuendos, WE DO NOT have a proprietary business interest or control for any artists music, videos, merchandise or any future royalties and residuals they might earn over their careers. We have NEVER had any written agreements with our event participants for almost FOUR decades of producing these events, that take ownership or a business acquisition of any of the music or videos that they create. The shows that do want that from their artist participants are American Idol, America’s Got Talent, The Voice, etc. Our awards program works under the “honors” system. A simple deal memo via email confirms artist participation and a hand shake at the event is given to them after we present them with their award plaque.
The Nashville Independent Music Awards facilitates personal introductions from our production staff, representing our artist participants to music industry professionals who actively participate in our yearly events. We are a Creative Community private event, serving the professional interests of participating independent artists and bands since 1991.
We look forward to showcasing the best and brightest artists and bands at our next Nashville Independent Music Awards Red Carpet Press Event.
